Favorite TV Show:
Arrested Development

S1 E2: Top Banana
Hilarious. Irreverent. Unfortunately, finished. I really didn’t want to choose a show that was off the air, but I just couldn’t avoid the fact that the best TV sitcom to ever run is “Arrested Development.” Not only is it funny, but it’s very smart and works beautifully in the time period it was made (2003-05 — oh how long ago that was!). I chose my favorite episode as a go-to, but really, just start with the pilot and knock out all three seasons at once. Trust me, you’ll want to.

Let It Rattle
Stefon Alexander (or Pissed Off Stef) was a Minneapolis punk rocker before he delved into the world of hip-hop. Since then, he has blended the two to become a force as a rapper and producer, combining harsh, energetic beats with insanely fluid and smart verses. All three of his albums are worth a listen, but the golden egg is definitely his most recent Never Better. It’s hip-hop like you’ve never heard it before.

Shanghai Bistro

Salmon Avocado Roll
I know Eau Claire, Wis., is not exactly known for its sushi. In fact, I doubt most of the upper Midwest is known for the Japanese delicacy, but luckily we have a pretty good and pretty inexpensive sushi bar right here in town. The key to Shanghai Bistro is their specials. From 11-1 p.m. on weekdays you can get a crazy cheap meal of chicken or pork and rice and from 3-5 p.m. you can get some sweet deals on sushi rolls.
