Trick-or-treaters visit UWEC residence halls

Local families were invited into the dorms on Halloween night

On Halloween night, children in their costumes could be seen roaming the residence halls at UW-Eau Claire in search of candy and goodies. There were ghosts, goblins and even Mary Poppins.

As children and their parents wandered about, UW-Eau Claire students volunteered their time early Halloween evening to hand out candy, some even dressing up in costume for this community event.

Trick-or-treating began at 5 p.m. in Chancellors, Oak Ridge, Governors, Murray and The Suites residence halls. All other participating dorms offered candy in their respective lobbies from 3 to 5 p.m.

Halloween is not only known for candy, but for decorating as well. Students living in the dorms could also participate in a door decoration contest, with winners receiving prizes.
