Let’s rock and roll
A great rock and roll playlist made by the Spectator staff
The late 60s going into the 70s offered a lot of new music. The summer of love and the generation defining artists like Jimmy Hendrix and Richie Havens that played music at the iconic Woodstock festival are just one example.
Then of course there’s The Beatles and The Rolling Stones. Stars from across the pond who won the hearts of American teenage girls, much to the chagrin of those girls’ parents.
Go back in time to the era of “Love not War” chants and the British invasion with songs like “Purple Haze” by Jimi Hendrix and “Band on the Run” by Paul McCartney and Wings. Listen to it here.

Oludare is a fourth-year journalism student and this is his fifth semester on The Spectator. He likes watching basketball and is pretty mediocre at it, but that doesn't stop him from playing it. He has a small but growing record collection and believes Woody Harrelson is a style icon and national treasure — fact not opinion.
