‘Ecumenical Religion Center: a dream come true’
After eight years of construction, the Ecumenical Religion Center has been completed. Dedication ceremonies followed the completion of the ECR’s construction on Tuesday, and will continue until Sept. 26 — featuring a banquet, concert and reception. Construction began after Rev. Kurt Reichardt, Rev. Robert McKillip and Rev. John Kruise had “dreamt up” the idea while working for UW-Eau Claire’s Cooperative Campus Ministry. The ECR operates on behalf of three religious groups: the Roman Catholic Dioceses of LaCrosse, the National Lutheran Campus Ministry and the United Ministries in Higher Education. The total construction of the ECR was $350,000.

‘Golds cruise to win’
After losing to St. Norbert College last Friday, the UW-Eau Claire women’s volleyball team retaliated on Saturday with three consecutive match wins on Saturday, also against St. Norbert, Lawrence University and Milwaukee School of Engineering. Friday’s game ended with a Blugold loss at St. Norbert in three out of four sets. Saturday’s matches featured a complete turn around, as the Blugolds “rolled to straight-set” victories over all three of their opponents.
