Fun Christmas season events in Eau Claire

Note: “We pick three” is an ongoing column in which Spectator writers share their picks for weekend events, destinations and more.

This weekend holds many events throughout the Eau Claire area. These featured events range from time outdoors with animals to a relaxing yoga session on Water Street. 

Tyler Lustek Group — The Oxbow Hotel

Opening the weekend up is a late-night jazz show featuring the Tyler Lustek Group at The Oxbow Hotel

Lustek and his swinging group will be playing at 8:30-11:30 p.m. on Sept. 23 at the Oxbow Hotel stage. 

Guests are welcome to the gallery lounge as well as the outdoor courtyard and patio area. 

Aside from the stage, the hotel offers warm fire pits, couches, tables and a variety of food and drinks. 

The performance is free and for all ages.   

Alpaca Petting Farm and Learning Experience

10 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Sept. 24 to Sept. 25 at Justorian Alpacas farm their gates will be open for people to meet their animals from across North America. 

There will be the opportunity to meet the alpacas up close, feel their fleece, tour the farm, view live demonstrations and learn about raising and breeding.

The event is open to the public and is free of cost. Justorian Alpaca farms are located in Osseo, WI. 

Sound Bath

If you are willing to spend some money to relax, there is the Immersive Sound Bath Experience at 6-7:15 p.m. on Sept. 25, Oct. 23 and Nov. 20.

The Habitual Yoga Space is hosting a meditative sound bath that features sounds of gongs, crystal bowls, tuning forks and soft-spoken words. 

The Habitual Yoga Space states no prior knowledge is needed to join the session. Also claiming the class is designed to make you leave feeling renewed, a bit in awe and most importantly, relaxed. 

The fee for the experience is $20 and is located on Water Street.
