Great Debate
Selena Gomez vs Justin Bieber
Selena Gomez
We grew up watching her work her magic (literally) on Wizards of Waverly Place and listened still as her song “Come & Get It” peaked in the top-10 of the Billboard Top 100 songs years later.
Unlike Miley Cyrus, Lindsay Lohan, and most notably Justin Bieber, Gomez was able to handle her young stardom and fat salary without going completely off the deep end later on in her young adult career.
Gomez went on to land roles in several movies including “Spring Breakers” and “Monte Carlo,” but her most notable accomplishment to this day may just be handling her breakup with Justin Bieber with class and grace.
Sorry Biebs but the message was clear, it is most definitely too late to say sorry.
While Bieber was busy urinating in public and experimenting with drugs, (is this the star we really want our generation looking up to?) Gomez was using her time to produce her hit single, “The Heart Wants What it Wants” and more recently her new studio album, “Revival.”
When you Google both Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez, you’ll find that Gomez was named Ambassador for the UNICEF foundation back in 2009, and you’ll see headlines of Justin Bieber caught in countless numbers of criminal activities.
While Bieber may be making a comeback with his latest album, “Purpose,” it’s pretty sad he had to save his face and regain positive publicity through his roast on Comedy Central.
If anything, Selena prevails simply due to her coveted and drool-worthy dark locks. Sorry Justin, but that bleach-dyed style isn’t doing you (or your attempt to get back with Selena) any favors.

Justin Bieber
When you hear the name Justin Bieber some might think of a spoiled punk kid, others a glorified pop star who will burn out like Aaron Carter.
Some probably think of Selena Gomez, while grounded music fans likely realize he’s a cultural icon, tied to millennials for decades to come.
Point is, like it or not, Bieber is here to stay so why not embrace the Biebs? Because if you haven’t noticed, a lot of your friends already have.
“Sorry”, a single off Bieber’s new album, plays every hour on the hour at most bars and parties these days. I can still hear the echo of my friends back home vibing to “Love Yourself” as thoughts of their ex’s race through their heads.
Honestly, did you hear more Bieber songs or eat more turkey this Thanksgiving break? I’m willing to bet it’s a toss up.
It’s not your fault his songs filled your hometown with cheer. Blame it on Bieber’s new album “Purpose” which debuted at number one.
“Purpose” joins the ranks of “My World 2.0,” “Under the Mistletoe” and “Believe” atop the charts.
And like Usher’s “Confessions,” which he released when he was 26-years-old or Justin Timberlake’s “FutureSex/LoveSounds”, which Timberlake released at 25, Bieber is still years away from his career defining album.
Essentially his best work is yet to come.
Therefore, I’m only going to tell you this one time.
The next time someone asks you why in the world you are a Justin Bieber fan, simply reply,
“What do you mean?”
