I’m happy to report that the Vikings are in shambles. OK, they still have a lot of talent and things haven’t really gone their way so far this year, but as a Packers fan, I’m ecstatic.

It may be hard to tell from the above statements, but I do not like the Vikings. If this was not realized, then stop reading because I’m guessing your brain hurts from having to decipher these symbols.

Maybe go back to pushing that square into the round hole too.

Anyway, I have always enjoyed it whenever the Vikings struggle. I enjoyed Mike Tice’s bumbling nature and one must not forget about the Sex Boat.

What happened earlier in the week though has got to take the cake. Head coach Brad Childress released Randy Moss – who is a good receiver mind you – in part because of things he said.

This past weekend, Moss bad-mouthed his team and said great things about the Patriots. I think Moss may have asked

Belichek out on a date if I’m not mistaken.

As a side note, good luck taking Belichick anywhere. Dude only wears sweatshirts and I don’t think he has ever smiled. Don’t quote me on that though.

Before I get to the obvious why-are-you-releasing-a-good-player argument, let me discuss the fact that Randy Moss typically says/does very stupid things. What exactly were you expecting?

This is a guy who smoked pot before his 30-day jail sentence for battery, got drug tested, failed it and lost his scholarship to Florida State. That’s a lot of things.

He hit a traffic cop with his car once. He had a joint in the car that he also got in trouble for. In an interview afterwards, he said that it was a friend’s

and he had told his friend that if he was going to smoke, to smoke it all up and not leave anything.

Randy Moss is using some good logic there; hopefully you took notes.

He also takes plays off and has said that sometimes he’s just not interested. Poor guy.

Basically my question to Brad Childress is this: Did you expect Moss to not say something stupid?

What Childress has done is released a very talented player. Yes, if I needed somebody to study for an exam with, I would choose my basset hound over Moss, but there are few receivers with as much raw talent as Moss.

Childress had to have known that, yet he very quickly released him and sort of informed the team with an “Oh by the way…” type of response.

The Vikings are in a rough spot right now. They have as many wins as the Lions and Brett Favre is their best option at quarterback right now, which isn’t good. He is having a considerably worse year than he did last year.

I think he aged 10 years over the offseason, which cannot be recommendable. I guess that would put him closer to joining the AARP, but beyond that I can’t think of why you’d want to do that. That Favre is a crazy ol’ coot I guess.

What I’m getting at is the Vikings need all the help they can get and releasing Moss, regardless of how crazy he is, is a very poor move.

Childress is really facing an uphill battle to keep his job and I’m afraid he’s struggling to keep his footing.

I do enjoy some nice Vikings struggle, but this may be more than I can take at the moment.
