The UW-Eau Claire men’s hockey team has made it to the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association finals for the first time in team history.
They defeated UW-River Falls 7-2 Saturday at Hobbs Ice Arena in the semifinal game.
Sophomore defenseman Chris Heineman and senior forward Jordan Singer each had two goals for the Blugolds.
Also scoring for the team was junior forward Daniel Olszewski, junior forward Mark Pustin and sophomore defenseman Jack Callahan.
After the night, the Blugolds have scored 108 goals on the season. They will face off against St. Norbert College (Wis.) in the NCHA finals Saturday. The Green Knights came out on top during their semifinal game against St. Scholastica (Minn.).
