The men’s and women’s track and field teams collectively captured five conference titles at the WIAC championships Friday and Saturday in Stevens Point.
Two of the five titles were secured by Thurgood Dennis. He won the 60 meter dash with a time of 6.79 seconds. He also came in first in the 200 meter dash, with a time of 21.93 seconds.
Aaron Easker placed first in the 5000 meter run, finishing with a time of 14:24.44.
Dennis, Cody Prince, Joe Makeever and Seth Friedrich competed in the men’s 4×200 meter relay event. The team finished first with a time of 1:29.31.
On the women’s team, Erin Schoenfelder won the 60 meter hurdle title with a time of 8.87 seconds.
Overall, the men’s team placed third in the championships and the women’s team came in fourth.
The Blugolds will be back in Stevens Point for the Last Chance Meet on March 2.
