Football falls at UW-Stout despite Sweeney’s big day (Brief)
After a week’s absence due to injury, UW-Eau Claire running back Joel Sweeney broke loose in his first game back.
However, so did UW-Stout’s combination of running back Adolfo Pacheco and quarterback Hank Kujak, as the duo combined for all five Blue Devils’ touchdowns en route to a 35-27 win over the Blugolds Saturday afternoon in Menominee.
Sweeney rushed the ball for 192 yards on 33 attempts and all three Blugold touchdowns to lead the way.
He sprinted to a season-long 70-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter to keep the Blugolds in the game.
Eau Claire hosts UW-Oshkosh for the final home game of 2013 Saturday at Carson Park.
