Wrestlers still looking for first win (BRIEF)
The UW-Eau Claire wrestling team ended this past weekend still winless on the season as they went on the road to UW-La Crosse for the Candlewood Suite Duals.
Eau Claire lost to No. 25 Cornell College (Iowa) 31-13, No. 22 Loras College (Iowa) 31-15 and Southwest Minnesota State 33-10. These losses put Eau Claire at 0-6 this season.
Individually, sophomore Nathaniel Behnke went undefeated for the day at 141 pounds. Currently ranked 6th in the nation, he won two matches by major decision and won the other match by forfeit. He is on a seven-match winning streak and now holds a record of 15-2 for the season.
Senior Ryan Seidler won two out of three matches at 149 pounds. He defeated a Loras wrestler in a 3-1 overtime win and then won 7-1 against a Southwest Minnesota State wrestler later in the day.
Eau Claire faces No. 4 ranked UW-Whitewater at 7 p.m. on Wednesday in the McPhee Physical Education Center.
